We believe that people should get paid for their work. We have met with several artists in person and heard from many more through letter writing and short questionnaires about what they want.

We’ve heard that artists are diverse and have different wishes! Some artists are interested in selling their work, while others hope to use the sale of their art to raise funds for specific organizations and initiatives, such as programming to support Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls & 2SLGBTQIA peoples.

We are actively working with our partners in the Correctional Service of Canada to develop ways to support artists and storytellers and sustain the project over time. Stay tuned for more information on this in the coming months!
