Ray Pickett is a small businessman looking to bring back common sense representation to Raleigh. As a lifelong North Carolinian and long-time resident of Watauga County, Ray knows that our values aren’t represented in Raleigh. The high country deserves better than the out of touch voting record and out of state money of our current representation. Ray and his wife have managed the Blowing Rock Inn for over 20 years. He knows how important tourism is to Western North Carolina, and will support measures to bring more people to North Carolina. As a small businessman, Ray understands that excessive regulations and red tape stifle the growth of a business. In Raleigh, Ray will stand up for small business owners and vote to keep taxes low and simply regulations for small businesses.
Ray resides in Blowing Rock, is a former Town Council member of the Blowing RocK Town Council. Pickett has also served on the Blowing Rock Planning Board, served as President of the Rotary Club of Blowing Rock, and as a member of the Blowing Rock Historical Society. He currently serves on the board of the Hunger & Health Coalition based in Boone.
Radical liberals have made it clear that they don’t believe gun ownership or a right to self defense is necessary in our society. As your representatives, Ray Pickett will stand up against far left groups to ensure our second amendment rights aren’t infringed upon.
